  • POLICY: Smokers appreciate a clear company policy about smoking at work.

  • EMPLOYER: A well planned and carefully implemented effort by the employer to address the effects of smoking on employees’ health and the health of their families shows the company cares.

  • MANAGERS: Managers are relieved when a process for dealing with smoking at the worksite is clearly defined. 

  • ENVIRONMENT: A tobacco-free environment helps create a safe, healthy worksite.

  • EXPOSURE: Workers who are bothered by smoke will not be exposed to it at the worksite​.

  • QUITTING: Smokers who want to quit may have a reason to do so.​


Tobacco Free for a Healthy NJ is seeking NJ employees to create a healthier & safer working environments throughout New Jersey. 


We are looking for employees between ages 19-29 to to represent other young working adults on the Working Well Tobacco-Free State Advisory Board (WWTFAB).


                   Members will:

  • Attend quarterly board meetings and other events or functions, as requested. 

  • Make recommendations to help assure that program development addresses relevant needs of employees and working professionals as well as businesses, industry, labor, management.

  • Advise the program to ensure that it develops salient outreach to target demographics, particularly young adult workers.

  • Guide development of marketing and social branding that will ultimately lead to the decrease of tobacco use among young adult subcultures.

  • Serve as ambassadors and advocate for the programs providing a connection to and ongoing exchange of information and ideas with businesses, industries, labor and working professionals.

  • Provide any other additional feedback, advice, and/or assistance as necessary

  • Receive a stipend up to $2000 for participation.
